Represent Zebra externally with government officials, regulators, trade associations and policy influencers, as well as deliver policy strategies and campaigns in Mexico.  Responsible for interfacing with Instituto Federal de Telecomunicaciones (IFT), Secretaría de Economía (SE) and other relevant Regulatory authorities. Will be the single point of contact for all IFT, NOM & Telecom related regulatory requirements and expected to have trusted relationships with them & other departments for facilitating regulatory approvals and identifying applicable requirements.


  1. In partnership with regional management and globalleadership, build and foster trust-based relationships with policy-makers at senior levels of the Mexican government departments.
  2. Liaison for Regulatory Affairs with IFT, SE, various National Consulting Standardization Committees on regular basis to understand processes, track changes & updates
  3. Represent Zebra on industry associations to monitor and influence policy decisions impacting product design and certification requirements.
  4. Represent Zebra on standard development committees and influence standard changes to minimize impact to our product design and certification requirements.
  5. Attend Stakeholders meetings, training workshops by regulators & debrief WW regulatory team with summary and share presentations
  6. Identify and report on upcoming/evolving regulatory requirements, changes in standards which potentially affect our products in our scope
  7. Handle Govt. Surveillance Audit queries, samples and prepare responses to such communications
  8. Identifying and Managing Consultant/ Agent for Regulatory matters and build strong partner relationship
  9. Identifying competent labs per our testing needs and establish strong partner relationship   
  10. Efficiently managing applications under the 2021 Conformity assessment procedure for IFT/NOM applications and Renewals
  11. Ensure Applications are complete and satisfactory for Govt. Department to process
  12. Coordinate with Govt. Department and Consultant to resolve queries in timely manner

In addition, you will be required to support new product releases, working closely with Zebra engineering teams; JDM partners and Test Laboratories.


  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related technical performance experience
  • 8+ years related experience
  • Technical competence with strong analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills with demonstrated ability to interact with professionals and management to gather and disseminate information. Knowledge of Regulatory standards.
  • Program Management skills including ability to generate and review test plans, schedules and budgets.
  • Able to work independently as well as cooperatively in a team environment across many geographical boundaries and time zones
  • Experience interacting with customers, certification bodies and test labs.
  • Ability to multi-task, assign and manage priorities in a shifting environment on multiple programs
  • Strong written, verbal and presentation skills
  • Fluent in English - spoken and written
