  • Overview

    Operates telephone console to answer high-volume incoming calls and directs callers to appropriate personnel. As first point of contact to visitors, must project a professional image when routing calls and greeting guests.


    • Answer incoming telephone calls, determine purpose of callers, and forward calls to appropriate personnel or department. Place outgoing calls, as needed.
    • Answer questions about organization and provides callers with address, directions, and other general information.
    • Welcome on-site visitors, determine nature of business, and announce visitors to appropriate personnel. Relay messages manually, via PA system and/or by electronic mail.
    • Monitor visitor access and issue guest passes, when required.
    • Record voicemail greetings and retrieve voicemail messages from the general mailbox.
    • Update the telephone extension directory.
    • Update and maintain several databases using Excel and Access software.
    • Support Office Services and/or Human Resources in routine clerical and administrative tasks that can be accomplished at the front desk.
    • Performs other duties as assigned


    • High school diploma or general education degree (G.E.D.)
    • 1+ year experience in customer service or similar role
    • Highly dependable to maintain perfect attendance
    • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
    • Fluent in Spanish. Other languages such as English is an asset
    • Cheerful, poised manner and presentation, both in person and on telephone
